Three leagues Real Madrid could join after La Liga fallout

Real Madrid is considering cutting ties with La Liga, with the potential of claiming asylum elsewhere. Could this move logistically happen?

Over the last few years, many instances have fueled the fire between Real Madrid and La Liga. Los Blancos, despite being the best club in the world and La Liga financially depending on them, are often on the receiving end of poor decisions from La Liga.

So, there is a growing feeling of a vendetta being placed on the heads of Real Madrid. In truth, the Spanish top flight appears to be completely against Real Madrid. The official bodies are doing nothing to convince Real Madrid that they benefit from competing in Spain.

So, according to Sport, Real Madrid is now considering a decision which would see them play football outside of Spain. Indeed, an operation could soon occur whereby Real Madrid claims asylum in a different country. So, which leagues could Real Madrid play in?

One option for Real Madrid to consider is the Bundesliga. Throughout history, the Bundesliga has been dominated by a club which Real Madrid knows well, the Bavarian side Bayern Munich.

However, last season saw a significant dynamic switch, catching worldwide attention. Bayer Leverkusen, led by Real Madrid legend and the potential future Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso, won the Bundesliga trophy.

This incredible unbeaten season by Bayer Leverkusen was a sign of the times and an indication that the Bundesliga could become competitive again.

Certainly, if Real Madrid were allowed to compete in the Bundesliga, it would be a much more competitive league, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund competing.

One of the most iconic leagues in the world, Serie A has made a name for itself throughout history as hosting some of the best players in the world.

With Juventus, Inter, AC Milan and Napoli often dominating the sphere, throwing Real Madrid into the mix would add a whole new layer to Serie A and make it a more commercial league than it already is.

Of the three options for Real Madrid, the Serie A might be the most difficult to convince fans of. This is not because the Serie A is the most competitive of the three options, but because the Serie A is traditional.

Fans of the Italian top flight would be hard-pressed to accept a team being "handed" a spot in the upper echelon.

Last but certainly not least, the Spanish publication lists Ligue 1 as a potential option for Real Madrid. The French top flight which is famously dominated by Paris Saint-Germain season after season would benefit the most from introducing Real Madrid.

Ligue 1 does not have as much interest as the other two leagues listed here. This is because neutral fans often disregard Ligue 1 as a "one-horse-race" which is not worth watching.

Therefore, adding fearsome competition between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid would be great for the league for commercial reasons. Additionally, it would encourage other teams on the outskirts of success to level up.

Interestingly, France is one of the countries which borders Spain. Therefore, this would be a move which appeals to fellow geographical enthusiasts the most.
