Real Madrid have been handed a big boost ahead of their trip to Liverpool in the Champions League, with Lucas Vázquez making a ‘miraculous recovery’ from an injury that had threatened to leave him out of the game.
Bernabeu Digital relay information from Marca today on the full-back and how he may be fit for the clash with Liverpool after all.
The newspaper reports that Carlo Ancelotti can ‘breathe a little easier’ as he’s received positive news from the Real Madrid infirmary when it comes to Vázquez.
Madrid’s doctors are confident that the right-back will be crucial for the clash with Liverpool on 27 November, something that will be a relief for Ancelotti considering the current shortage of defensive players.
Vázquez has been out with an injury picked up against Osasuna and was expected to be absent for a month however his prognosis has improved and there is hope he will travel to Anfield.
The Spanish side will consider to be cautious with the full-back but they have been encouraged by his recovery so far.
That, though, may not change the plan for Ancelotti. He’s been drawing up a ‘Liverpool plan’ to deal with the current problems in the squad for the trip to Merseyside.
That could see Fede Valverde deployed as a right-back against the Reds and he could even start against Leganés before that to test him in the position.
Lucas Vázquez’s ‘miraculous recovery’ has at least added a potential option to his roster that wasn’t expected to be there previously, though, and that’s good news.
