Zizou to prove himself

Record signing Zinedine Zidane has vowed to prove his detractors are wrong in saying that the Madrilenos have made a huge mistake in signing him.

Real have come under fire from all sections of the media in Spain for splashing out £45million on Zidane, who many are saying has no place in the current team.

The Madrilenos have struggled to incorporate Zizou so far, and after losing the season's opener at Valencia the critics are accusing Real of getting their system all wrong saying that the French star is playing too close to lone striker Raul.

But Zidane reckons that he has plenty of time to prove everyone wrong. "I'm not worried in the slightest," he said, "It's true that I'm still not at my level, but that is always the case with me at this point in the season."

"I'm at a new club, in a new country and it's me that has to adapt to the side."
