Zizou gets Real backing

Zinedine Zidane has received the backing of his team-mates following widespread comments that the team performs better when he does not play.

The evidence came when Real got back to winning ways to beat Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night, a game Zizou missed through suspension.

The French ace, the world's most expensive footballer, may re-take his place in the side on Saturday, when Real travel to Sevilla to meet Real Betis.

And he'll have full support from his colleagues. Striker Raul Gonzalez was first to back Zidane's return saying: "Real Madrid will play well with Zidane, without Zidane, with Raul without Raul, with Figo, without Figo."

"Every game is different and here, every player is important. What isn't logical is the people who are questioning the capabilities of the best player in the world".

Goalkeeper Iker Casillas added: "Zidane's a great player who will do well here but it's important to be patient. Figo came from another Spanish club last season but Zidane has to adapt after coming from Italy which is why he needs more time".
