Zinedine Zidane denies star trio transfer speculation

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane says star trio James Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata and Pepe are all set to remain with the Spanish giants.

Rodriguez’s future at the club has intensified in recent weeks after the Colombian admitted he could look elsewhere for regular playing time, speculation Zidane has played down.

“James is a Madrid player, an important player,” Zidane said.

“It was a difficult moment, when you do not play in a final you are angry. I understand that. But that is all past now. We have spoken."

“He is a Madrid player and wants to be here at the best club in the world. Nothing else. We will keep working hard, which is important.”

Reports from Italy claimed fellow attacker Morata could be set for a possible return to Juventus, again Zidane made it clear he is a required player.

“I do not believe this information is correct,” Zidane said.

“[Morata] looks happy to me to be here. He is at home here. He is working well, very focused on the project here, and nothing else. You could ask him.”

Meanwhile, Pepe who is out of contract next summer was subject of a mammoth offer from the Chinese Super League and Zidane says he wants the player to remain with the Champions League winners.

“Pepe is our player, he is important for us,” Zidane told reporters.

“He has been here many years, has made history with this club and I hope he stays. I am not interested in speculation, just in what he can do for us from now until the end.”
