Zidane Still Wants Ronaldo At Real

Real Madrid playmaker Zinedine Zidane has exclusively told Futbolera that he would still like to see Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo's future has been the subject of much speculation this week, with the player's agent saying on more than one occasion that he's keen to leave Inter.

SoccerAge briefly caught up with Zidane prior to Real's 0-0 friendly match with Roma at the Giants Stadium in New York - a clash in which the Frenchman's performance was one of the main highlights.

Q:Zinedine, days ago you publicly invited Ronaldo to come to Real Madrid; but lately the whole establishment has avoided the subject. Is there no longer an invitation for Ronaldo?

Zidane: "Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world. Clearly I would like to play with him."

Q: "But now that Real has discarded the signing, the invitation no longer applies then..."

Zidane: "The point is that I am not the one who makes those type of decisions in the club."
