Zidane: Figo deserves new Real Madrid deal

Zinedine Zidane is urging Real Madrid to offer teammate Luis Figo a new contract.

The Portugal international has been outstanding this season, but is yet to hear from Real officials about a new deal. Tottenham and Manchester United are among Premiership clubs to be monitoring the situation.

"I believe that Figo, for the reasons that he is demonstrating now, must sign here again. He deserves to because it is clear that he is playing well and that he is a very professional player who does all his work from the heart. He deserves it. There is no doubt," said Zidane.

The French ace also revealed his admiration for AS Roma striker Antonio Cassano, a top target for Real president Florentino Perez.

"I rate Cassano as the best Roma has, although Totti and Montella are very good. Cassano is just a little bit better because he is younger."
