Zidane admits to be among world greats

Real Madrid midfielder Zinedine Zidane has finally confirmed that he agrees that he belongs to the world greats in football.

Usually modesty France star Zinedine Zidane has admitted that he views himself as one of the stars of the world football. The highly praised midfielder, often mentioned along the world greats like Pelé, Johan Cruyff, Michel Platini and Diego Maradona, admitted to Onze Mondial that he shared the same view. The star playmaker lead France to the World and European crowns.

Zidane had his big breaktrhough with Girondins de Bordeaux who he lead to the UEFA Cup Final in 1996. The midfielder joined the club from AS Cannes as a highly rated U-21 international and fulfilled all the promises, although the side fell short of winning the title during his spell with the club.

He said: "I am a modest person, but I feel myself to be not the best one, but among the ten best players of all time."

"I decided to leave Juventus to sign for Real Madrid because Spanish football was better for my qualities."

"I always maintained that I would really be made to play in Spain because Spanish football is always a big test. Now I can tell you that I am not disappointed. Now I can tell I was right."
