Zenit ace Arshavin reveals Real Madrid talks now open

Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Andrei Arshavin has revealed he could be on his way to Real Madrid next month.

The Russia international has made no secret of his wish to quit Zenit during the January market and has courted interest from Barcelona, Tottenham and Chelsea.

However, Arshavin revealed: "I can confirm that some officials (from Zenit) have sought to begin negotiations with Real Madrid for my move to the Spanish club."

"At the moment there is nothing concrete, even if we are in contact with other Spanish clubs and also Italian and English."
