Zaragoza Zone-In On Milito

Argentine international defender Gabriel Milito looks set to get his dream move to Spain after all, though in that case his destination will not be Real Madrid but rather Zaragoza.

The freshly-promoted side were quick to try and take advantage of the capital club's harsh decision not to sign him from Independiente after a medical revealed a trace of a knee problem and their opportunism looks to have paid off.

"It looked like he was going to Real Madrid, but after they pulled out we stepped in and believe a deal will be done in 48 hours," said Zaragoza president Alfonso Solans.

"We have been following him for two years," he added. "He is a player who interests us greatly."
