Youngster ready for new deal

Teenage sensation Javier García Portillo has made the first steps to re-negotiating a new contract with Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old C team striker met up with Real executives Jorge Valdano and Emilio Butragueño to discuss the player's contract revision, seeing as the current contract expires next June.

Portillo just cannot stop breaking records, having netted 18 goals already this term and he is the 'Pichichi' in the Third Division and the youth team's top scorer ever.

The exciting hotshot has been the top scorer in every competition he has entered logging more than 700 goals for the Merengues.

Hot on the heels of the players are Alavés, Deportivo and Barcelona as well as local sides Atlético Madrid and Leganés.

But Herminio Menéndez, who is representing Portillo, is confident that a new deal will be struck with Real, he told Marca: "We've been talking over Portillo's contract with Real for a while now and I'm sure that we'll reach an agreement where everyone's happy and the player will stay at the Bernabéu."
