Young Ghana Star Excites Both Real Madrid & Liverpool

Young Ghana defender Daniel Opare is now wanted by Real Madrid as well as Liverpool.

Spanish champions Real Madrid have joined Liverpool in the pursuit of Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare, who was voted best defender in the recent under-17 World Cup.

Both Rafa Benitez and Bernd Schuster have expressed interest in Opare, who will be taking part in the imminent African Cup of Nations after having been selected in the Ghana squad.

The youngster has attracted a lot of praise, and given that his club, Ashanti Gold SC, have put a £1.5 million release clause in his contract, they clearly regard him as highly talented.

Indeed, he has been compared by some to the young Cafu.

It will be interesting to see how he performs in his homeland during the African Nations Cup - and how energetically both Liverpool and Real pursue their reported interest in Opare.

And, of course, whether the young star prefers a prospective career in La Liga or the Premier League.
