Young Brazilian starlet eyed

Diego De Cunha, a young striker currently making waves in the Brazilian league has been eyed by Real.

With one eye on the future, sports manager Jorge Valdano plans to take Diego from his Brazilian outfit, Santos and allow him to develop amongst the stars of the Bernabeu.

Diego is one of the major players in the Brazilian Under-17 side. He's known simply as 'Diego' with a curious reference to football legend Diego Maradona, with whom he has been compared.

The Sao Paulo-born wonder-kid also wears the number 10 shirt for Santos, just like his hero, Pele once did.

Diego has wowed the terraces in Brazil this season, netting 30 goals in just 15 games in the youth league.
