Xabi: I'm ready for Real Madrid demands

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso says he's joined Real Madrid as a first-choice.

Xabi said: "Being a player of Madrid you are aware of the high expectations, and more so with this project, with the new coach, the new directors."

"The expectations are very high and I accept the challenge. I will provide solutions to my teammates, moving the ball quickly and giving the team balance in the centre of the field."
