Xabi Alonso: Real Madrid Have The Recipe To Beat Barcelona At The Camp Nou

Xabi Alonso believes that Real Madrid have the correct recipe to travel to Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Monday evening, if the team perform to the level that they are capable of.

The Spanish international spoke to a press conference today during which he praised Barcelona for their recent achievements, and also intimated that the outcome of the match may prove to be pivotal, but not decisive, in the title race.

He stated: "This Barcelona team are very good, and are still very good. In recent years they have won many titles, and we will fight hard to beat us because it will be crucial. The two matches, both at the Camp Nou and the return will be very important."

"However, there are many more points also to be played for, so the match will not be decisive, but the result will still be important for those with aspirations of the title. This team has great potential in attack, with great scoring ability. If we play well, and are strong in attack and defence, that is the recipe to win at the Camp Nou."

Alonso also claimed that coach Jose Mourinho will not allow the players to relax ahead of such a crucial match, adding: "He keeps the team motivated, and is always pressing us because he wants more. Some days he is calm, and other days he is more motivated."
