Woodgate welcomes new Real Madrid teammate Cannavaro

Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate has welcomed the arrival of Fabio Cannavaro, despite the threat the Italian represents to his first team place.
 
The fit-again England international said: "He is a wonderful signing, a fantastic footballer, the best player in the World Cup behind Zidane. Now we have six central defenders. I only can try to fight for a position."

"My first year here was a nightmare. The second was close to being the same. I played little. I have tried to smile every day although it was destroying me inside."
