Woodgate to start serious Real Madrid training

Real Madrid are confident Jonathan Woodgate will be available in 16 days' time for the Liga clash with Real Betis.

Real continue to ship goals, as shown against AS Roma in midweek, and the solution for the club's technical staff is the recovery of Woodgate.

The England international is now fully recovered from his thigh injury and is doing a 'short preseason' under the eye of fitness coach Jose Luis Sanmartín.

Woodgate will join the rest of the playing squad on Monday for the first time since signing in the summer.
