Woodgate tells Real Madrid coach: I'm ready

Jonathan Woodgate says he is fit and ready to make his competitive Real Madrid debut.
 
Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo gave his players the day off on Monday, including Woody, but the Englishman chose to train on his own at Madrid's base as he continues his rehab.

Woodgate turned in a full day's training, from 10:30am in the gym through to an afternoon session on the training pitch with coach Antonio Mello.

Thursday's Liga clash with Athletic Bilbao is looming as Woody's big day after Sergio Ramos was sent-off on Sunday and an injury cloud hanging over Ivan Helguera.

"If Real Madrid and Luxa need me, I am ready," Woodgate told AS. "I am very happy and training well."
