West Ham consider Real Madrid striker Portillo

West Ham United are considering a move for Real Madrid striker Javier Portillo.

The Spain U21 international has been offered to several Premiership clubs by intermediaries and Hammers manager Alan Pardew is weighing up whether to go for 'Portigol'.

Portillo enjoys a big reputation on the continent and spent part of last season on-loan at Lazio. But with Real well off for senior strikers, the prolific forward has struggled to make a first team impact at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real are ready to allow Portillo to move away on-loan and West Ham can expect fierce competition from the likes of Getafe, Real Zaragoza and Racing Santander for the youngster.
