Wenger: I considered offer from Madrid

Manager Ars?ne Wenger has said that he did consider an offer from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

But the Frenchman turned down the offer in the end, saying that he had a responsibility to see his 'project' at the club through.

Wenger is also not a big fan of purchasing players to form a successful team. His policy at Arsenal is to build a team from the youth system at the club.

Wenger said: "I did consider the offer from Madrid, yes, because I am at time of my career where I don’t have another 10 years."

"I have been with the club for twelve years and I do not want to go on a year too far."

"I refused because I have built a young team and I couldn’t go before my work is done."

"I do not deny that it will be a decisive year. If we can’t fight for the title, it will be necessary to rebuild everything."

"An anti-Real policy has been established. We are building a style over time, a little like Barça. We don’t particularly need reinforcements, that depends on the departures."
