We still have things to learn - Figo

Luis Figo believes the Portuguese national team still have "things to learn" despite them making sure of their World Cup 2002 spot.

Portugal qualified for the event after beating Estonia 5-0 on Saturday, although Real Madrid star Figo reckons his side need to improve if they are to have an influence in Japan and South Korea.

He said: "Previous to any kind of unrealistic thought, we must work hard to improve our game."

"We still have many things to learn and to perfect. On the other hand, people should know that Portugal have a small population and as a humble country don't have many resources, contrasted with other world powers."

Figo continued: "This is a remarkable moment in our careers. Besides, it's the first World Cup for many of us, in particular those of my generation, and it is in all probability the last chance of playing in this major competition."
