We Must Be More Sensitive To Morientes

Real Madrid sports director Jorge Valdano has admitted that the club must improve its relationship with striker Fernando Morientes.

The striker was strongly linked with Tottenham in the summer, and has fallen behind Guti and new-signing Ronaldo in the Bernabeu pecking-order.

"We kept in daily contact with Morientes and his representatives at the time and talks were conducted in a professional manner, maybe a little coldly," Valdano pointed out.

"I think we need to show more sensitivity towards him as he is a required player."
