We’ll Make Life Difficult For Madrid - Kresic

After pulling off a stunning 1-0 win at home to Barcelona on the opening round of La Liga, Numancia are ready to take on their next challenge: a visit to reigning champions, Real Madrid.

Tiny Numancia have never beaten Real Madrid before in the three seasons so far that they have played in the top flight. And current coach, Sergio Kresic, is well aware of that record but he has a feeling all could change in two weeks’ time.

After the Numantinos’ upset 1-0 victory against the might of Barcelona last weekend, the newly promoted outfit are riding on a wave and the Croatian coach believes that anything is possible at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Speaking in an interview with El Mundo Deportivo, Kresnic first revealed how he and his side managed to outfox the Blaugrana.

“We studied videos of their matches. We saw their game against Boca, Wisla and those from their American tour,” the 61 year old began.

“We knew where and how to attack them. We only had four or five chances but we scored one. After that, we defended very well and Barça were on the backfoot,” he continued.

The veteran, who has coached 11 different teams before arriving in Soria, then revealed that he will use the same method to approach their encounter with Los Merengues.

“We will begin to analyse Madrid and their games this week. We have a lot of time to prepare for the match and look for ways to make life difficult for them."

“We already know their weakness points and soon, we will find out where to attack them,” explained Kresic, before going to add, “I believe we can score at the Bernabéu and that is what we will be looking to do.”

The clash will take place on the 14^th of September after the completion of the one week International break.
