Villarreal No1 Lopez has no Real Madrid regrets

Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez has no regrets leaving today's opponents Real Madrid last summer.

Lopez has fought his way into coach Manuel Pellegrini's first team and rewarded the faith shown with three cleansheets in the last three games.

On his return to the Santiago Bernabeu, Lopez said: "It is clear that I guessed right leaving for Villarreal. Although I do not regard myself as anyone's substitute, it was obvious I could not get past Iker Casillas. However, I am showing now that I was right to take the risk."

"I am happy here, although the beginning was hard because I did not play as much as I had hoped. I arrived in the summer with the ambition to prevail at Villarreal and I am now doing it."
