Villa boss O'Leary in Real Madrid approach

Aston Villa boss David O'Leary has denied any knowledge of making an approach to Real Madrid.

The Sunday Mirror says Real have been besieged by discreet soundings by agents whose clients want to replace their Brazilian coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

But there was also a more formal approach. Real received a brown package with an English postal address containing the Aston Villa manager's CV and a video charting his career in management.

O'Leary is on holiday with his wife Joy in Dubai. When asked about the package sent to Spain, the Villa boss said: "I haven't got a clue about this."
