Vieri denies doubting Inter future

Azzurri striker Christian Vieri has denied recent claims that the transfer of Brazilian ace Ronaldo from Inter to Real Madrid had caused the burly striker to reconsider his career at the San Siro club.

Vieri today quashed rumors in the Italian media which suggested he wasn't happy to be paired up with new signing Hernan Crespo.

"I don't understand where these stories come from, especially since I haven't spoken with the media for two months."

"Yes I am disappointed to see Ronaldo go, he was a friend, but I am very pleased to welcome Hernan Crespo to the team."

"He is a great striker and a valuable addition, as is that of defender Fabio Cannavaro, one of the best defenders in the world."
