Vieira to ink Arsenal deal this week

Arsenal are confident that Patrick Vieira will sign a new contract before the end of the week.

A Highbury insider last night told the Mirror that they have agreed with Vieira to announce the decision jointly on the club's website and added: "We hope this week will be a very good one for Arsenal Football Club."

However, its reported that Vieira will have several get-out clauses written into his new deal.

The Frenchman will be allowed to leave if the £400m move to Ashburton Grove is abandoned, if another club makes a huge offer or if Arsenal fall short of being genuine contenders this season.
