Vieira not ruling out Real Madrid switch
Arsenal's Patrick Vieira, recently hailed by Zinedine Zidane as the world's best defensive midfielder, has not ruled out playing alongside his France team mate for Real Madrid.
Arsenal's Patrick Vieira, recently hailed by Zinedine Zidane as the world's best defensive midfielder, has not ruled out playing alongside his France team mate for Real Madrid.
"To hear Zidane say nice things about me makes me proud and glad," he told France Football magazine. "As for playing with Zidane at Real, we'll see. All players would love to one day play for them. I don't know if I will have the chance."
Zidane said last month he thought Real could be interested in signing Vieira.
"I think Real Madrid is the world number one club so I think Patrick could play for us," Zidane said.
The 25-year-old Vieira, who joined Arsenal in 1996 from AC Milan, has been the subject of newspaper speculation over the past few months linking him with clubs including Real Madrid and Juventus.
