Varane taken off for Real Madrid with adductor injury

Nacho was drafted in to replace Varane in his 200th game for the Merengue, with reports of an adductor injury in his right leg, although the severity of the problem is yet to be disclosed.

Girona took full advantage of the disruption, hitting back from Cristhian Stuani and Portu to take a 2-1 lead in the first 15 minutes of the second half.
