Van der Vaart says Real Madrid confident of Champions League chances

Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart says the players are confident of winning the Champions League this season.

"We have the confidence to have a great campaign, we have time left and we are convinced that we can win it at the end of the season," said Van der Vaart, whose Real face Liverpool next month.

"It'll be a great tie against a great team."

On their Liga prospects, the Dutchman conceded: "We must wait for Barcelona to drop points. You still never know what might happen."
