Van der Vaart could leave Real Madrid for nothing

There are claims Rafael van der Vaart could walk out of Real Madrid as a free agent.

Wil van Megen, a lawyer of FIFPro, the worldwide union of professional players, told Voetbal International: "Rafael could be free because they have assigned his jersey number to another player for the summer friendlies ( Esteban Granero), which means they have not fulfilled the contract."

Inter Milan are the latest European club to be linked with Van der Vaart.
