Valencia wanted it more - Real Madrid's Queiroz

Valencia stunned Real Madrid 2-0 yesterday at the Mestalla stadium to strike the first blow in this season's championship race.

Mista and Oliveira grabbed the goals in a game which Real Madrid trainer Carlos Queiroz admitted was wanted more by Valencia.

"They were more combative, more serious about winning today," said Queiroz.

"We must congratulate Valencia because they won well. This should act as a wake-up call to us. We cannot allow this to happen again."

"Valencia started well and that first goal on five minutes set things up for them. The great champion teams learn from their errors and this is what we must do."
