Valencia president: We will soon solve Ayala situation

Valencia president Jaime Orti has confirmed he hopes to settle Roberto Ayala's contract situation in the coming days.

The Argentina international has asked for a new, improved deal and almost joined Real Madrid last month.

Orti said: "I want to solve this situation as soon as possible."

However, Ayala's agent, Gustavo Mascardi, is refusing to travel to Valencia until Orti puts a concrete offer on the table.
