Valencia in talks with Real Madrid defender Helguera

Real Madrid defender Ivan Helguera is in talks with Valencia.

The Spain international's agent, Pedro Bravo, spent yesterday locked in negotiations with Valencia officials about a move to the Mestalla for his client.

Valencia are willing to offer Helguera a three-year contract worth £1 million-a-season, plus bonuses. The defender is currently on over £2.5 million-a-year at Real.

Meanwhile, Franciso Pavon has rejected a move to Villarreal to stay and fight for his place at Real.
