Valencia beat Leeds 3-0 to reach Champions League final

Valencia reached their second consecutive Champions League final after a Juan Sanchez double and a Gaizka Mendieta drive secured a 3-0 win over Leeds United in their semifinal, second leg on Tuesday.

With last week's first leg having finished 0-0, Sanchez bundled into the net with his shoulder to put Valencia ahead on 15 minutes after Mendieta had spun a cross into the area. Sanchez struck again two minutes into the second half with a fierce shot inside Nigel Martyn's right-hand post. Leeds hardly had time to recover when Valencia dealt the body blow with a third from Mendieta. The Spanish international midfielder picked up the ball inside the Leeds half, nudged it forward and then drilled a 20-metre drive into the exactly the same spot as Sanchez to make it 3-0 after 52 minutes. Leeds then had Alan Smith sent off in injury-time.

Valencia, who lost last season's final to Real Madrid, now meet either Real or Bayern Munich in the final in Milan on May 23.
