Valencia ahead of Real Madrid for Alexis

Valencia are threatening to trump Real Madrid for Getafe defender Alexis.

Real Madrid are prepared to pay Alexis' £6 million buyout clause at the end of the season to sign the young centre-half. However, Valencia could add players to sweeten their offer, including David Navarro and Pablo Hernandez.

Valencia also have deeper links with Getafe than Real, with the likes of Diego Gavilan and Raul Albiol having swapped clubs in recent years.
