Valdano: Title Win Confirms Start Of New Phase

Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano spoke after his side claimed the 29th Liga of its history with a 3-1 win over Athletic Bilbao.

"It feels like the League we won two years ago was the start of a new phase. This is confirmation of that," he said.

Of the squad he added: "They know that there is a lot of pressure, an enormous pressure and also great expectancy."

"This is the sixth title (trophy) that Real Madrid have won since Florentino Perez began as president. The Madrid people are happy because of this."
