Valdano: Real Won't Be Signing Ronaldo

Jorge Valdano, Real Madrid's director of sport, has confirmed that the European champions will not be signing Ronaldo.

The Brazilian striker confirmed yesterday that he wanted to leave Inter Milan, although the Italians have said that they are expecting him to see out his contract at the San Siro.

Valdano told Radio Marca: "Yes, we are discarding Ronaldo."

"We don't want to create problems with Inter, who maintained themselves firm in their positions, and we now want to drop our expectations with the desire that the speculations stop. It is better to stop the whole thing here. Speaking so much about Ronaldo and not
getting him gives a sensation that we lost him, and this isn't good."
