Valdano: Real Madrid showed we can score without Ronaldo

Real Madrid general manager Jorge Valdano was delighted with their victory over Real Valladolid on Saturday.

Valdano was especially pleased as it was achieved without injured star Cristiano Ronaldo. He said: "I liked the first-half, when we moved the ball well."

"We have seen that with or without Cristiano, the team found the goal with ease. We have specialists for that task and we have seen some very nice goals."

Valdano was also pleased with Marcelo, who was slated two weeks ago for his performance in defeat at Sevilla.

"In addition to scoring a goal, Marcelo has given an assist. We have to congratulate him, he showed great courage throughout the match," added Valdano.
