Valdano: Real Madrid delighted Zidane now more hands-on

Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano says the club is delighted to have Zinedine Zidane working closer to coach Jose Mourinho.

Valdano is pleased with the new appointment, and believes it will be very beneficial for the club.

"We are setting what will be the Zidane position," Valdano explained.

"We will be able to communicate it in the coming days. He will have a closer relationship with the team, notably for CL matches."

"It will be great pleasure for everyone Zizou could be part, in a way or another, of the technical squad."

"His function inside the club will definitely be more active."
