Valdano Denies Real Have Met Wenger

Real Madrid's director of sport Jorge Valdano has denied reports that he and club president Florentino Perez met with Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman has been strongly linked with replacing Vicente del Bosque at the Santiago Bernabeu in recent weeks, but Valdano has poured cold water on the reports.

"But if the question is whether or not we have met Wenger in the past two weeks, then the answer is no," Valdano told Spanish TV show El Dia Antes.

Wenger has also stressed he is committed to the Gunners and has vowed to see out the remainder of his two years at Highbury.
