Transfer rumours

Tottenham set £75m Pedro Porro asking price as Barcelona and Real Madrid plot 2027 swoop

With interest in Pedro Porro from Real Madrid refusing to fade – and Barcelona also keeping tabs -Tottenham have now set their asking price, which would represent a world‑record fee.

Tottenham Hotspur showed a willingness to let go of players who wanted out of the club in the summer transfer window.
That led to the exit of several big names, including Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, Kevin Danso, Pape Matar Sarr, Guglielmo Vicario and youngster Luka Vuskovic.
Richarlison, who asked to leave but failed to secure a transfer, is currently frozen out. However, for those who wanted to remain at N17, Spurs opted to renew their contracts.
Pedro Porro was one such star who decided to extend his stay despite interest from Spain, including Real Madrid.
The full-back went on to enjoy an impressive campaign with Spain in the summer, emerging as a World Cup winner and the highest-rated defender in the competition.
Those displays have once again stirred interest from Spain, with Barcelona and Real Madrid keen on securing his services.
However, with Porro having only recently signed a new contract, Tottenham are in a strong position to negotiate, even if they cannot prevent him from leaving.
TeamTalk has revealed that Spurs are prepared to demand a world-record fee from Porro’s suitors if they are to sanction a sale.
A fee of £75 million is what the Lilywhites are willing to accept – significantly higher than the £57 million record paid for Achraf Hakimi in 2021 when he moved to Paris Saint-Germain.
So far, despite interest from Barcelona and Madrid, no formal offers have been made. It is understood that Barcelona are looking to complete the sale of Jules Kounde before making any move for Porro.
Reports claim Hansi Flick is keen on a player who can instantly connect with winger Lamine Yamal, and given Porro’s link-up with him in the Spanish national team, the move appears logical.
As for Madrid, they are currently stacked at full-back with Denzel Dumfries and Trent Alexander-Arnold, but it is explained that the club’s hierarchy are not entirely convinced and are exploring alternatives.
Porro himself is open to a move back to Spain, where he began his career before spells with the City Football Group, Sporting CP and then Spurs.
