Tottenham planning big money offer for Real Madrid midfielder Diarra

Tottenham are chasing Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra.

The Sunday Mirror says Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is set to pull off a stunning £12million raid on Real Madrid to land Diarra.

Totteham boss Redknapp wants to team up again with the French midfield enforcer who he managed to FA Cup glory at ­Portsmouth.

Diarra, 25, has already held talks with Redknapp and told friends that he’s excited about the prospect of another link-up with his former boss.

Diarra would not be eligible for the ­Champions League having played in it for Real this season.

He quit both Chelsea and Arsenal over a lack of first-team football but after joining Redknapp at portsmouth in 2008, played in every minute of their FA Cup campaign, eventually helping the club lift the trophy.

Such was his impact under Redknapp, the Frenchman went on to claim a place in France’s squad for Euro 2008. And, later that year, Madrid paid £20million for him.
