Tottenham boss Redknapp wants reunion with Real Madrid midfielder Diarra

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra.

The London Evening Standard says Tottenham have made an enquiry for controversial Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton but Diarra remains their first choice.

Redknapp signed the France international midfielder while Portsmouth manager three years ago before Diarra moved to Madrid.

The 26-year-old is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and was left out of the squad by manager Jose Mourinho for their recent pre-season tour to the United States.
