Toshack: Beckham made right decision in Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid trainer John Toshack says David Beckham has made the right choice in moving to Spain.

Ex-Liverpool star Toshack, who managed Real twice, told The Sun, "If you get the opportunity to join Real, nobody in their right mind says no."

"It is debatable which is the biggest club in the world - but it is hardly a retrograde step to leave United for Real."

"From my experience, the city of Madrid is tailor-made for David - although I cannot claim that what suits Tosh would suit Posh!"

"But for Beckham, it could be his finest stage, his finest hour."

He added, "Beckham should view this move as an honour and a privilege. I would not want him to look back on his career and have any regrets about missing out on this move."

"How many players get the chance to play for two of the most glamorous clubs on the planet?"

"OK, his pride has been hurt by some of the things that have happened recently."
