Title in the bag for Real

Vicente Del Bosque believes that the title race is over after Real registered a 1-0 win over neighbours Rayo Vallecano on Sunday night.

The victory puts Real six points clear at the top of the Primera Liga table with just three games remaining and Del Bosque said after the game: "I enjoyed the match because I felt that we played with great character. We had many chances on goal during the first half and really we should have killed the game off."

Luis Figo added: "We have suffered unnecessarily because we should have made the most of the chances that we created. Now the league title depends on us alone - we're closer than ever now."

Real can win the title as soon as Saturday if they beat UEFA Cup heroes Alaves at The Bernabeu next Saturday and Deportivo slip up against Valladolid.
