Tenerife eye Real's Valdo

Tenerife are reported to be interested in Real Madrid prodigy Valdo and could use the weekend meeting to open talks with the Spanish champions.

The 20-year-old striker impressed Real's technical staff when he was called up for a friendly against Cartagonova during the pre-season and Tenerife have him in mind to bolster their attack.

Whether Real will be open to the idea of loaning the player until the end of the season remains to be seen.

Coach Vicente Del Bosque seems keen to slowly introduce more youth players into the first team squad but as of the moment, their attack has no call for modifications of any kind with Raul and Morientes in dazzling form.

Curiously, Valdo spent his school days under the watchful eye of a football-crazy nun at a convent-school in Madrid - the player recently recalled that Sister Martina's quarters were decorated with posters of Real legends Hugo Sanchez and Emilio Butragueno.
