Ten-man Panathinaikos grab late goal to draw with Rangers

Ten-man Panathinaikos fought back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against Rangers in their Champions League group E clash on Wednesday.

Pantelis Konstantinidis struck from close range in the 87th minute to earn the Greek side their first point in the group.

Rangers had snatched the lead 10 minutes before the break when Portugal international Capucho slid the ball into the danger zone for Emerson to bundle it home.

Panathinaikos were left with an even tougher task when substitute Yiannis Goumas picked up two bookings inside 10 minutes to leave the hosts a man down after 47 minutes.

But they responded with their best spell of pressure as Michalis Konstantinou and Dimitris Papadopoulos missed chances to equalise before Konstantinidis came to the rescue.
