Sylvinho urges Arsenal's Cole to take Real Madrid option

Barcelona defender Sylvinho has urged ex-Arsenal teammate Ashley Cole to join Real Madrid.
 
Cole, 25, is expected to start the Champions League final in Paris tomorrow night and Barca reckon he could be their weak link after playing only four games in seven months.

Sylvinho, 32, who left Highbury in 2001, said: "Ashley Cole would do fine in Spain, and would certainly be right for Real Madrid. I remember working with him a few years ago and he's now one of the best left-backs in the world."

Tipping Cole for Real is the ultimate insult from a Barca player.

But Cole is just grateful to Sven Goran Eriksson for keeping his World Cup dream alive. He said: "He kept in touch and came to reserve games and that has really helped."
