Spurs offer £5M for Real Madrid's Guti

Tottenham have made a £5 million bid for Real Madrid midfielder Guti.

The Mirror says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is in America, where Real flew yesterday for a pre-season tournament, and he is working at sealing the deal quickly.

Spurs originally wanted Jenas and offered £6m, but Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd has warned him off.

Now Spurs have turned their attention to Guti and seem to be at the head of the queue for a player who has been with Real all his career.
